ILLUMINA VOICES ILLUMINA VOICES
About ILLUMINA VOICES was established in 2008 by Rosemary Nairn OAM who remained its Music Director until June 2014. Upon her retirement, Deborah Munro was Music Director until December 2016. The choir is now directed by Glenda Lynelle with accompanist Helen Angove. With between forty and fifty members, ILLUMINA VOICES has built a reputation as a dynamic and popular women's choir in South Australia. Choral excellence, connection and community are the principals of their combined purpose. The choir presents two major concert seasons each year with programs selected from a broad repertoire of show tunes, swing, spirituals and sacred, classical, folk, world and contemporary music. ILLUMINA VOICES has performed at Kernewek Lowender (Cornish Festival) in Moonta and with Adelaide Harmony Choir in their Anzac Day Concert "To the Fallen". They have hosted two visiting choirs, The Arcadian Lamplighters from NSW and Women of Note from Victoria. ILLUMINA VOICES have joined forces with The Adelaide Male Voice Choir on two occasions and have also enjoyed a weekend choral workshop with Australian composer Paul Jarman. The choir entertained enthusiastic audiences in the Adelaide Fringe in 2015 with "Around the World in 80 Minutes" and again in 2020 with “Too Good To Be True”. ILLUMINA VOICES is a not-for-profit organisation and proudly supports community health projects associated with women, children and families.
