About us

The Onkaparinga City Choral Society had its beginnings back in 1968 when a group of singers in the southern suburbs got together and formed a choir. They were initially known as the Southern Singers. In 1976, the choir became known as The Noarlunga City Choir. In 2003, a name change was needed and became The Onkaparinga City Choral Society Inc., with the choral group as The Southern Singers. The Southern Singers choir holds two concerts each year, annually participates in the Adelaide Sings Choral Festival and the Southern Community Carols. They are often guest performers at other local events. The choir has also entertained at Oxenberry Winery in 2018 and 2019 with the probability of this being an annual event. The Southern Singers is currently quite a large group of around 25 members who are always eager to share their love of singing with so many people in the community. New members are always welcomed.
